The Reclaimer is an open source industrial grade shredder. It is mainly designed to shred plastics and semi hard organic materials.

What can it cut?
Most soft materials but it depends on the stretch goals met at bottom of page
Some Uses:
Shred failed 3d prints: shredding failed 3d prints to then be put back into any filament maker to turn back into filament to then 3d print again. NEVER WASTE FILAMENT AGAIN!!
Shred recyclable thermoplastics: Shred recyclable plastic containers and then use it in a filament maker to turn plastic trash into usable 3d printer filament. MAKE FILAMENT FOR FREE!!!!
Shred kitchen trash: Shred kitchen trash and then use that trash in a compost pile. Shredding trash increases amount of material you can put into your compost bin, decreases space for heat to escape thus decreases compost time.
There are many other uses for the Reclaimer of which are not listed. These uses are just the ones that i personally use it for.
What is needed:
To operate the shredder you are going to need a ratcheting driver. You can use something like a ratcheting breaker bar, a impact drill, or cordless/corded drill. The Reclaimer without the shroud/hopper will have to be used manually due to liability and safety.
Planned expansions:
Shroud and Motor Driven: Due to some liability and safety issues the Reclaimer will be designed to only accept a motor if and only if the shroud/hopper is installed. The shroud/hopper is required for use of a motor because this prevents someone from sticking their hands in.
Configurations:
1045 Steel (75 MPa Minimum)
Heat Treat Blades: 5.5 times stronger Minimum (190MPa) to  8 times stronger Maximum (280MPa) (these are both minimums as design is optimized blades can take more stress thus cut harder materials)
Nit-riding or Carbonizing: Increasing wear resistance for added durability and hardness also increased rusting and corrosion resistance
